The Peel Ripe Loop Story

Kevin Kimsey waited in line at a local sandwich shop and watched as avocados were being prepared. He noticed how messy and time-consuming it was to dig out the avocado with a spoon, and the amount of fruit that went to waste.

As he was looking at an avocado seed, an idea was born. The end result is the Peel Ripe Loop, a versatile peel and preparation tool for a multitude of fruits and vegetables (mangoes, kiwis, avocados, melons, squash, bell peppers, baked potatoes, pumpkins, papayas, tomatoes…and more).

Kevin wanted to create a kitchen tool that reduces waste and preparation time, and is something that anyone can use, and he did! The Mango Loop soon followed, designed especially for larger fruits and the notoriously hard-to-peel mango, and the Kiwi Loop, for fruits with very thin peel.

Perfect Prepping

The secret to how Peel Ripe Loops can help reduce waste in your kitchen (getting more bang for your buck and mango for your tango!) lies in its simple and effective design: the Peel Ripe Loop does not cut. Instead, the Peel Ripe Loop separates the ripe and edible parts of produce from its peel or skin.

Peel Ripe Loops separates the peel or rind of avocados, kiwis, papayas, baked potatoes, squash and melons, and is the ultimate tool for peeling a mango! It is useful for vegetable preparation, cleaning seeds from bell peppers and pumpkins. It removes the skin of baked potatoes and squash, and can be used on Portobello mushrooms and when preparing stuffed tomatoes.

Peel Ripe Loops have no sharp edges and is safe to use for people of all ages and abilities. The flexible loop adapts to the shape of the fruit, allowing a more natural preparation process (produce has no sharp angles!).

Through a simple scooping motion, or an easy twist, the Peel Ripe Loops become your pal in quick and effective produce preparation! See our instructional videos for how Peel Ripe Loops are used to peel and prepare different fruits and vegetables.

The Anatomy of a Peel Ripe Loop

Peel Ripe Loops are made of a sleek, tempered stainless steel wire and a wooden handle, the latter inspired by the avocado seed. The handle is made out of birch wood and is hand-stained and branded in Arizona. The wooden-handle Peel Ripe Loop is the original loop!

The Avoloop, Mango Loop and Kiwi Loop with wooden handles are assembled in Prescott, Arizona, U.S.A.
